You haven't lived until you've seen a highly-hyped movie the moment it opens. The Dark Knight, in this case, opened at midnight today (or last night depending on your relative point of view). I spent much of the night leading up to the movie on the rooftop of the Sundance Cinema, drinking summer drinks.
Erik and I started off with a Mojito and decided that they tasted too good. We asked for gin & tonics and the bartender asked us what type of gin we would like. I tried to hastily finish this seeming liquor-smart, "Sapphire Bombay is fine."
"What do you suggest?" Erik quickly slips into the conversation.
"There's this one gin that's distilled with rose petals. It's good it's sorta sweet actually," the bartender informs us.
"What do they make gin from?" Erik quizzes.
The man at the bar on this rooftop enbibery is paying attention to our chatter while he smokes his Marlboro Light and sweat slowly drips off his head. The bartender slyly says something to the effect how it's distilled with berries and the smoker pipes in, "It's basically vodka but using berries. In it. Vodka with berries infused."
"They actually put rose petals into the fermentation process?" I ask.
"Yea, it infuses with it," the bartender tells me.
Two glasses of gin later, I was in the theater watching the film. Probably the best movie ever made about a superhero. And I think I was a little buzzed. Rose petals and all.

Finally, I've added a video below that I believe everyone should see. It will kick off your weekend the right way.
